SACCE Mission:
The Suffolk Association for Continuing Community
Education was founded to promote lifelong learning opportunities
for adults within Suffolk County and beyond the county's borders.
It is our purpose to advance adult education as a vital factor in
adult growth, development and fulfillment.
Through the sharing of
resources and ideas with colleagues in the Nassau Association, and
under the umbrella of the New York State Association, SACCE strives
to increase the recognition of and respect for continuing community
education and its professionals. In addition, it is the goal of the
organization to exercise leadership in the advocacy of adult community
and continuing education at the local, state and national levels. |

The Goals of SACCE include:
- Fostering unity and cooperation among the individuals, groups and institutions involved with adult education in Suffolk County
- Providing opportunities for adult educators to work together to review, strengthen and expand programs designed to meet the diverse needs of adult learners
- Improving the awareness, understanding and support of adult
continuing community education
- Providing a forum for discussion of issues relevant to adult education and a platform for collective action
- Developing opportunities for professional development
